When it comes to clothes, would you rather be comfortable or fashionable?

No question, I'm all about comfortableness, fuck being fashionable and uncomfortable, gimme a nice pair of sweats and a hoodie and I'm good to go.

Today is the anniversary of the death of Elizabeth Short, also known as the Black Dahlia. What real-life murder story are you most fascinated by?

I'd have to say the mass murder of all the people in the WTC buildings on 9/11 by the united states government.

just some ACTUAL hip-hop I've been listening to lately. I'm getting really sick of any new stuff; it all seems to be about "bitches" and "hoes" and how much money they have and what they can buy with it and how they're gonna kill you if you "front". Not that i have anything against violence in the media....I just don't find it entertaining when that's ALL they rap about. I've decided to boycott the majority of new stuff in favor of some real hip-hop like Big Daddy Kane, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common and Immortal Technique

Big Daddy Kane - Ain't no Half Steppin
such a smooth beat...

Mos Def, Talib Kweli & Common - Respiration
this song just flows

So I've had a chance to meet all my teachers for this semester at least once so I'm gonna give a little review of my first impressions of all of em.

First up is my Psyc110(Experimental Psychology) teacher, Dr. Judy Caldwell. I've already had her last semester for Psyc130(Contemporary Issues) and she was awesome, she has lecture work books so you're not constantly taking notes all class you just have to copy down the essential material which is nice and wish more teacher would do it. She's also really perky...she's admitted to a caffeine addiction though so that might be why :P

The next teacher I had was my Phil102(Central Issues in Philosophy) Justine Noel. Well, where to being. She seems reeeaaallly bored while she's talking and I can already tell she's gonna be one those teachers who has favorites and lets you know if she doesn't like you. She was also chewing gum the entire class while she was talking which I found to be extremely rude and unprofessional. I am, however, still looking forward to the class as philosophy is a HUGE interest of mine.

Next up was my Engl160(English Literature). Ugh. This teacher(Candace Fertile) is the essay Nazi. She has like 2 whole pages in her course outline saying how she wants you to format your essay and if they aren't how she wants them she'll fail the paper...she was also dressed super conservatively, long plain dress with very neutral colors, long straight hair and no make-up and I'm pretty sure she doesn't believe in antiperspirant/deodorant cause she had come crazy BO action goin on....this should be an interesting class I'm really not looking forward to it.

My last teacher was Gemma Cuizon, who teaches my Math073(Advanced Mathematics 2) which is essentially the second half of Math 11(I haven't done math in 3 years gimme a break :P). What I didn't know previous to attending the first class sis that it wasn't a lecture class but a self-paced class which I don't completely understand, but i guess it means I just do it as slow or as fast as I want....seems kinda weird though I'd rather just have a lecture class and learn it from the teacher.

For the most part I'm looking forward to this semester's classes, the teachers might be another story but I guess time will tell.

So I got up this morning and one of my roommates said I had a package in the mail. The onyl thing I was expecting was a book I had ordered about a month ago called "The Complex" by John Duignan. I don't think i've been so excited for a book before. I am very much against Scientology, it's nothing more then a giant pyramid scheme where people get brainwashed and sometimes killed or left for dead. When I finish the book I'll have to write a better review.

Soooooo, this was probably one of the more boring new years eve i've ever had. I had no weed or beer AND both my roommates were in Kelowna for the holidays. so not only was i completely sober but also alone :(

On a more positive note, both of my roommates are coming back. They're also bringing back an old friend of theirs (Bob) who i've met a couple times and he seems like a pretty chill guy; if he's a friend of Kayla and Steve then he's a friend of mine too :)

What would a new years be without some resolutions...so here are mine
  1. Be more social - I dont' know what it is but for the last year or so I haven't really made any new friends, I talk to people in class and whatever but I havent' really made any friends I hang out with outside of school.
  2. Get my anxiety in check - To most people it probably seems like I don't really have any anxiety problems anymore, and up until recently it was true. I'm not sure what it is but a couple months ago it started to get really bad. I'm not sure what I'm gonna have to do to deal with it, but just leaving it is obviously not gonna help. As much as i hate taking any kinda of prescription pills, if i need to to take care of my anxiety then so be it; I'd rather take pills and feel normal then live in a semi-constant state of worry all the time...we'll see.
  3. Stop being a party pooper - This kinda fits in with my "being more social" resolution. I think I just need to be more outgoing in general and stop being so lazy. This also includes letting people take pictures of me which for some reason I've been very against for a while.
Now some good things that happened in 2008
  1. Moved to Victoria - I decided to move out of Kelowna which I think has helped me a lot. I dont' wanna go into too much detail; kelowna just had a lot of bad memories and people I wanted to get away from. I also super lucked out and moved in with 2 of the best people EVER.
  2. Went back to school - I finally took the jump to go back to school. I felt like I was just wasting time doing "whatever" jobs...just kinda on autopilot. Even though I didn't do overly well in my first semester, I think I have a bit of leeway having been outta school for 3 years :P
  3. Quit Smoking - I finally managed to quit smoking. Obviously it's an ongoing battle, but it's been just over 4 weeks since my last smoke so it's lookin pretty good.
I'm really looking forward to 2009, I don't want to jinx anything so I don't wanna say what I'm excited about in particular but i think it's gonna be a fantabulous year.
I will say that I'm super stoked to goto Shambhala 2009. I've never been and I'm gonna be goin with one of my favorite people in the world!

So apparently LJ didn't like me posting certain things on my account so it's been disabled/deleted/whatever, this is my new account though. YAY!
